My name is Joell Jayden Perez and I’m running for City Council! Join me in this journey towards a brighter future for our beloved city. JJ Perez is the son of a Coast Guard family that was stationed right here in Cape May from 2016 to 2018 and then again in 2021. His upbringing taught him the importance of community, teamwork, and the sacrifices people make that often go unnoticed. Cape May is the proud home of the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center and it perfectly embodies its spirit. Because of this, Cape May is home to JJ and his family, which is why it's important for him to guarantee his fellow neighbors the best possible quality of life. JJ is a candidate of the people for the people. He is excited to provide an honest perspective to the council that represents the beautiful town of Cape May.

During the early stages of my campaign, I had the honor of meeting many of our residents here in our city. They repeatedly voiced their love for living in Cape May but also were concerned with ongoing challenges that come with it. They talked about the cost of living, the hazardous infrastructure of our local sidewalks, and the lack of parking for long term residents and employees. I pledge to face these problems head-on while also working with our Mayor and Council to ensure that our residents are heard and represented!”
